Multi-sig for issuing NFT completion certificates: the first attempt by a local government
The third phase of the Digital Innovation Human Resource Development Programme in Shizuoka, organised by Shizuoka Prefecture and managed by LTS, Inc., will issue a multi-signature NFT certificate in cooperation with Opening Line, Inc.
The issuance of this multi-sig NFT certificate by the Shizuoka Prefectural Government is the first of its kind by a local government (according to LTS research).
Overview
Certificates are issued in the form of NFT data to graduates of the third phase of the Digital Innovation Human Resource Development Programme in Shizuoka, accredited by Shizuoka Prefecture, in cooperation with Opening Line, Inc.
The NFT Certificate of Completion includes the name of the programme, the name of the graduate, and the name of the certifier, which can be viewed on the mobile app.
NFT certificates have also been issued to those in the second phase of the programme.
Features
Applying multi-sig to the NFT Certificate of Completion allows multiple organisations to demonstrate that they have approved the completion of the programme.
NFT certificates are issued in a form that cannot be tampered with, and their authenticity can be verified by anyone using blockchain technology. This ensures that those who have completed the course retain proof of their learning, and that third parties can easily verify it online.
It is expected that the proliferation of such initiatives will accelerate the movement towards digital innovation in Shizuoka Prefecture and the public sector.
