Poiny, an easy to use application for creating Loyalty Cards
Using the mosaic (token) issuance function of the Symbol blockchain and the mosaic transfer, revocable function, blockchain loyalty cards and their operation can be used with the Poiny app.
When a merchant gives out points, the customer receiving the points simply scans their QR code into the Pointy app. When the customer uses the points, they scan their QR code in the same way, the merchant reads the QR code and collects the points.
What merchants need,
Symbol address and its cryptoassets XYM. XYMs are used as fees.
Cost of point mosaic issuance. (50 XYM at time of writing)
Points transaction fee when give out. (Usually less than 0.1 XYM)
Points transaction fee when customers use points. (Usually less than 0.1 XYM)
Signature app ‘aLice’.
Merchants use the app to perform operations such as issuing a mosaic as points, giving out points and collecting the points when they are used, but no programming or other technical knowledge is required, just a few operations with the app.
In addition, the nature of the blockchain means that every time a merchant issues, gives or collects (revokes) points, they need to have a 'signature', which requires a dedicated signature app called "aLice".
You don't need to have a store or a business to run this blockchain loyalty card and points system. If someone wants to create a points-based blockchain loyalty card system, you can easily create it with just a smartphone, and your ideas of how to use it are endless.
